When I read, especially for school or when I am hunting for information, I am an active reader. I like to make notes as I go. Try making notes as you read

A connection to my life from this article is that go for runs everyday. When I started running, I was in terrible shape, and could barely run half a mile. Now, I've gotten up to 6 miles, which I never thought I'd be able to do. Running is a great way to get in shape.

A connection I can make to my life from this article is that I have an iPod. I think that it is intriguing how other companies are partnering with Apple to create new applications and tools to use with iPods. I think that the Nike+ sounds very helpful, but then again, the article did only show the good data. They didn't post any negative data, but I assume there is some.

A connection to my life is that I have to run to keep in shape for soccer, but I have no motivation. This system of using data claims to give people motivation to run. I would like to try this!

My connection to this article is that i run three times a week. I too keep track of how far i run and how long it takes me to run. I can use these numbers to calculate my total distances and the total amount of time taken for that total distance. After reading this article though, I might go home and try this so that i dont have to make all the calculations back at home.

I live by the number 21 because it is my soccer number and my birthday is 12-21-94. I use numbers for soccer to keep track of how many goals are scored during a game. I also have an ipod and running sneakers...

I found this article very interesting for many reasons. I had never heard of this product, and it sounds like it would get many people motivated to run and get in shape. The author says, "In the winter, people in the US run more often than those in Europe and Africa, but for shorter distances." I find that interesting because it is usually warm in Africa, and in the winter it can reach temperatures below zero. That this product can inspire people to run in the freezing cold is incredible. I would very much like to try it. I agree with Kara though; they do not list any of the negatives, which makes me want to read about it from other sources.

A couple of weeks ago, I was really bored, so I was messing around with my iPod(2nd Gen). I saw the built in Nike+ thing on it(mentioned in the article) and I was fooling around with it. I thought it was interesting but I couldn't figure it out. Now, from reading the article, I now understand it, and I am probably going to buy Nike+. I run a lot, and during the summer I tried to create a log. However, I found it to boring and difficult, so I gave up. TO BE COMPLETED LATER

I play soccer, and over the offseason, I am probably going to run and train a lot. I can use Nike+ to help prepare me for next years tryouts (I wasnt as prepared as I should of been this year). With Nike+, I can have organized numbers that can help me improve my running.

I think Rachel Amanda and I have very similar reasons to use NIke+. I think they wrote theirs better however. While hers was short sweet and to the point, mine was long and boring. Props to Rachel and Amanda. GO SOCCER!!!! Also, My birthday is 12-23-94 (2 days after Amanda)

P.S. Sugar- was writing AWWWWWW YA!!!! necessary :) LOL

My connection with this article is that I have an iPod. Nike+ seems like a very useful tool to runners or people who want to run. Personally, I do not like to run so I would probably never use Nike+. I think people like Nick and the soccer players (Amanda, Rachel, Matt, Anthony) would definetly use program, as they said in their comments.

The Nike+ sounds like it is a really helpful thing for runners. My connection (like a lot of other people) is that I have an iPod nano, but i agree with Olivia that the Nike+ is really great for people who like to run. I probably would never use it because I only run when I have to for the sports that I play.

Wow Connor! Very good connection!

I really like how Anthony explained his connection with so many details. Since he has a 2nd gen iPod touch, it would be great for him to get Nike+ to make running more interesting. Keep up the good work Anthony!

I think Kara is right, there should be some negative data for nike+ too. Great thinking!! :)

To Jenny and Olivia- I understand you guys dont like running, but it says in the article that most people arent very good runners, but with Nike +, these people got hooked. I think If you tried it, maybe you guys would love it too.

A connection with this article that i have is that i run. I run for sports and also for fun by myself. When i run i keep track of the distance i have gone. The Nike+ seems very helpful because it keeps track of your data for you.

I think Amanda had a good point about using numbers. We all depend on numbers for time, or if your on a sports team, keeping track of how many points your team has, etc. The Nike+ is all about numbers; how far you ran, how fast you ran, etc.

i agree (like Amanda) with Kara. This product sounds great but what are the down sides of this?

Matthew Sugar said...

I agree Nick, running is a great way to stay/get in shape. There's been many shows made for people to get in shape; The Biggest Loser!!!!!!!!!!!!!
