Dread, no dread here

I don't dread school. My high school experience was actually fun. I think it shows. If teachers create a "learning is never over" environment rather than "stress the test" environment then they can pull knowledge (and great lessons) out of kids.

I have fun teaching. Work shouldn't be a place you have to go, you should choose to go. I live by that code. Math ( and all subjects) shouldn't be something you have to do but you should want to tackle. If you get the fun (or Positive energy) you get the want. If you get the want, you don't have to worry if the students will ask you a pivotal question taht will make the lesson so much better than if you just give away the knowledge. They just will.

They will want to.

I was talking to my mom about how a lot of people in today's society really don't like their job. I always heard people say "If you think school is bad, wait till you get a job." I asked her why people dread their jobs. I told her that my one major goal in life is to get a job that I like. That way, I wouldn't have to wake up every morning and dread going to work.

I think if more people thought about what they wanted to do a researched about what they like I think they would that there are definitely jobs that they can have and still like.

Humans function better under favorable conditions. How can someone expect to function at 100% in a working envrionment if they don't even like what they do?That's just my opinion.

I feel as if many people aspire to have one certain job and are let down when they do not achieve their goal. I believe you make your job fun, no matter what that job could possibly be. The people at work make work worth going to, because even if you had your dream job and the people were terrible, you still would dread going everyday. The same thing applies to high school, you have to make high school fun it does not just happen. Attitude is everything, and the more positive lifestyle you life, the happier time you will have. Your job is what you make of it, and it is up to you to put that effort into making your work more enjoyable. =)

Honestly, I do not always look forward to coming to school each morning. I hope, when the time comes, that I am able to find a job that is always exciting and that I always look forward to. I believe that everyone should be able to find a job that is interesting to them because continually doing a boring and tedious job is no fun. I agree with Kady, it is your job to make your workplace more exciting and an overall fun place to be.

When I walk through the halls at school and any other working building, I can always hear people saying how they don't want to be there and that it is a burden upon them to have to come everyday. But, in my opinion, that is their own falt. If they have that negative attitude, they are just going to get that negative feeling towards what they are doing. And in the end, it will definately show in their work. With work and school, it is what you make it. If you put a positive twist on something, then you and people around you can and will be able to enjoy the task. Also, you shouldn't take a job that you don't want to do. It probably won't ever be fun and you will hate getting up every morning and going. You should go after your dream and don't ever stop because you failed. Keep trying until you get what you aspire. In the end, you'll feel even prouder because you worked hard for what you wanted and you didn't give up. So, go after your dreams and always keep a positive attitude so you and others can emjoy every minute of it.

I think that it all depends on the person, not the job. Some people are overall not happy with their life, so anything will seem annoying. Some people could have the best job ever and hate it. I think that you should not say that you HATE your job because YOU chose it, same with school, the school you attend and how much you have fun rests on you. A class seems more interesting if you are actually paying attention to the teacher...any "boring" class can be made into a fun class if you decide that you want to have fun

I love school, but somedays teachers are just boring. Like in Spanish, I don't get it at all, which makes it boring. But in math and science, I get what i doing so its fun. Also, i think that school is fun if you have good teachers, and not teachers who are repetitive.

I think it really depends on the persons outlook on life. I think if you try that you can find the positive in anything. There may be some classes that I dread going to, but I just keep focusing on the good parts and remember that as soon as its over I can go to whatever better class or school will be over and I can go somewhere fun. You can find negatives in just about anything you do and you can find reason to dread going pretty much anywhere, but you cant keep your mind stuck on these things. People need to learn to forget about the bad things in life. People should definatly try to find jobs they love and be happy, but if its not the best place in the world they should still find some reason, no matter how small, to enjoy going there.

I also agree that you can make things fun if you decide that you want to and try to enjoy it. But if you just have it set in your mind that its going to stink, theres no way around that.

I think that to succeed in something, you need to have an interest in it. This relates a lot school and careers. If you want to do good in school, you have to want to be there and want to get good grades and try your hardest. This can eventually lead to a successful future in a career you have a passion for. Want to do good, even if it isnt something youre really into yet so you can eventually get to what you want to do. Just try to keep a possitive attitude. The happier you are, chances are, the better it will go.

I also agree with this post. people do work a lot more efficiently when they like what they are doing. For example i love doing sports like baseball, i don't drag myself to practice everyday, i hurry my mom up so i can be there right on time because i love playing the game.

If teachers could starting teaching kids to like learning instead of learning for the grade hten the teacher has reached a higher level than all the others.

My mom always says that “you can have all the money in the world, but never really be happy unless you’re doing something you love.” Have you ever heard of a career that doesn’t even seem like it would be work? This is probably because it deals with a subject that interests you. For example, if you take pleasure in learning about ancient civilizations and lost ways of life, you would probably enjoy a job as an archaeologist, anthropologist, historian, etc. After you became acclimated to your work environment, going to a job you love would be the highlight of your day. Yet, in every workplace, there is at least one person that you just don’t click with. You have to look beyond that one person, and ask yourself “am I doing something I love?” If yes, then you shouldn’t let the coworker affect your happiness and make you dread going to work. Learning to work with unreasonable people is simply a part of life.

I agree that you will not live happily if you dread going to work everyday. Having a job that you enjoy is very important. If you go to work everyday in a bad mood because you don't enjoy what you are doing then your work will end up suffering from it. People who have to do a job but don't want to will not complete the job to the best of thier ability. Therefore everyone around them will suffer from it, including their co-workers, family, and friends. If someone loves their jobs they have the ability to make everyone around them a lot happier and it makes everything better!

having a comfortable and friendly relationship with each and every student is one of the most important components in creating a stress-free environment in the classroom. Although this is not the easiest of tasks, it is well worth it. Since it is guaranteed that not all teachers will like all students, a teacher has to cope with this. Determining there "least favorite" student in the class and then adjusting that comfort level to the rest of the class is the first step. If this one student is "playing hard to get", try harder. Being consistent and sincere will possibly bring them out of their shell, and if this happens then the whole class will benefit and be able to create good ideas as a team.

okay i think its important to let you know that you spelled "that" wrong in this post. Not that i was checking or anything...oh and i agree with you about how you should want to do the things you do instead of feeling like its stuff you HAVE to do. So i was thinking...theres no way anyone WANTS to do homework and no one ever will (probably) so maybe as a teacher you could work on getting rid of homework, you know to reinforce your ideas and stuff.
